  1. Maximizing Conventional Memory

  3. If "LA Strippers" still does not load, check your available 
  4. conventional (low) memory. You can do this by typing: 
  5. "MEM" and pressing Enter.  Check to make sure that you have at 
  6. least 580 Kbytes of free memory in the low memory area.

  8. If you do not have enough free memory available, you may be able 
  9. to adjust your system configuration by changing all "Device=..." 
  10. statements in your config.sys file to "DeviceHigh=...".  In your 
  11. AUTOEXEC.BAT file you can precede commands with the "LoadHigh " 
  12. statement.  Both of these actions will load drivers and programs 
  13. into high (Extended) memory thereby freeing up conventional memory.

  15. An alternative is to create a "Boot Disk".  This is done by
  16. formatting a system disk. To do this place a blank disk in the
  17. "A:" drive and type: FORMAT A:/S
  18.  
  19. Then you can make a "skeleton" config.sys file by setting up
  20. expanded memory (EMM386.EXE, see above), and loading high the drivers
  21. for your CD-ROM, Sound Card, etc.  Leave any unecessary commands out
  22. of your config.sys and autoexec.bat.
